About Me

Before I tell you about me, let me tell you something I think I know about you.

You are ready for this search to be over.

You are hoping counseling can help with whatever you are going through, but aren’t quite sure. You are used to taking care of other people and you wonder if anyone out there can help take care of you.

And you are hoping that, whatever the solution is, it doesn’t hurt, doesn’t embarrass you, and isn’t too uncomfortable.

I know because I’ve been right where you are, trying to navigate life after landing off the map.

I needed answers Google couldn’t provide, courage that didn’t evaporate, and hope that felt like solid ground.

Once, in a season just like yours, I found someone who could help me. Although I was intimidated too, I found a guide who led me as I found my way again.

And I promised that I would do that for other people one day.

That’s how we ended up here.

After a decade of leading a church in Oxford, I made a switch to counseling so that I could walk with those who feel like they are walking alone.

My practice integrates the skills I learned in pastoral ministry with research-based therapeutic techniques from my Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health. I work with individuals and couples to help them overcome obstacles, repair their relationships, and shape their story as they move on to the next chapter.

I would love the opportunity to do the same for you.

frequently asked questions:

What can I expect from our sessions?

During our sessions, I’ll ask questions and do a lot of listening. Together we will look for places in your story that offer insight into the struggle or highlight an area in need of healing. When we discover some of those areas, we’ll work together to get what you need and come up with an effective plan to help you take the next steps.

How much does counseling cost?

My fee is $125 per session.

No Risk Guarantee: If you decide that this is not a good fit for you during our initial session, then you will not be billed for that first appointment or the rest of the program.

Although my fee is comparable to other counselors in our area, I have set aside a limited number of sliding scale appointments available for those facing financial hardship. If you are interested in learning more about these slots, don’t hesitate to ask. If I am unable to accommodate your needs, I will be glad to refer you to a number of trusted counselors who may be able to do so.

Do you accept insurance?

Unfortunately, I do not bill insurance at this time.  That is one of the reasons I offer some sliding scale slots for my counseling practice.

How long does counseling last?

Everyone tends to move at their own pace with this work. For some, issues are accessible, change is simple, and support is broad. For others, it may take a little longer. Once we begin, we will be in frequent dialogue about our session goals and unfinished business to determine how long counseling should last for you.

Is this Christian counseling?

I’m a person who tries to be more like Jesus every day.  Many of my Christian clients have said that my counseling style has helped them find a deeper understanding of the Gospel and a closer walk with God, in addition to helping them overcome their personal challenges.

I also recognize that people of all faiths (and no faith) can struggle with life’s burdens.  Everyone interested in being my client will be treated with empathy and respect and offered research-backed tools to help them take make the changes they desire, regardless of their background.
